Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

What this does: This Airworthiness Directive (AD) mandates a safety modification for specific Bell helicopters to prevent dangerous fuel leaks.

Who it affects: Owners and operators of Bell 206B series helicopters with serial numbers 3567 through 3784 (including Agusta Bell 206 equivalents).

What you must do: Replace the existing aluminium fuel supply tube with a new stainless steel tube before the specified compliance date, unless the work has already been completed.

Why it matters: The original aluminium tubes are prone to corrosion (rust and deterioration). If corrosion penetrates the tube wall, fuel or fuel fumes can leak into the helicopter cabin, creating serious fire and explosion hazards.

Technical details: The replacement must be done in accordance with the manufacturer's Alert Service Bulletin 206-84-22.
