Plain English Summary

What this document does

This officially cancels a previous safety rule (Airworthiness Directive 91) that required owners of certain Bell helicopters to inspect a specific structural part called a "longeron" (part number 206-031-314) for cracks and corrosion.

Who it affects

Owners and operators of Bell 206 and Agusta Bell 206 series helicopters.

Why it matters

As of 31 July 2008, the mandatory inspection and repair requirements from the old directive no longer apply. The safety check is now incorporated into the standard Bell 206 maintenance manual as part of the routine 300-hourly inspection. This effectively folds a special one-off safety directive into normal scheduled maintenance, simplifying compliance for aircraft operators.
