Plain English Summary

3/10 complexity

This AD applies to Bell 206L/206L‑1 helicopters with certain serial numbers and horizontal stabiliser P/Ns and requires daily/overnight inspections of the affected stabiliser until it’s modified per Bell Alert SB No. 206L‑81‑23, and mandates retirement or modification of those stabilisers by 31 March 1982. It affects owners/operators (who bear inspection and modification/replacement costs) and allows the pilot‑in‑command to perform/certify the interim inspections; compliance depends on following the Bell service bulletin.
