Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This Airworthiness Directive requires owners/operators of specified Bell/Agusta Bell 206 helicopters (serials 4–857 and any spare rotor masts shipped before 8 Sept 1972) to inspect the main rotor mast per Bell Service Bulletin No. 206‑23. Inspections must be completed on the timetable in the bulletin. It’s mandatory because mast defects could cause catastrophic failure; aircraft not inspected as required are unairworthy and may not fly.
