Plain English Summary

3/10 complexity

This AD requires Bell 206/Agusta‑Bell 206 operators to remove and inspect the main transmission magnetic drain plug during every daily or overnight inspection to check for metal debris. It affects helicopters with the specified transmission unless they carry certain Bell-approved modifications or a cockpit chip detector. The measure aims to detect internal wear early and prevent catastrophic transmission failure and likely loss of rotor drive.
