What this means for helicopter operators

If you operate a Bell 206A helicopter with serial numbers 4 through 583, you must take specific action regarding a particular engine cover assembly part (part numbers 206-001-012-1 or 206-001-012-7).

What you must do

Inspection: Check the cover assembly within 10 hours of flight time after 28 October 1970
Modification: Complete modifications to the cover assembly within 100 hours of flight time after 28 October 1970

Why this matters

This safety directive addresses specific airworthiness concerns with the cover assembly on these helicopter models, based on technical guidance from Bell Helicopter (Service Letter 206A-155). Compliance is mandatory to maintain the aircraft's certification to fly.
