This directive requires operators of Bell 206L-4 helicopters (serials A-1833–A-1912) to inspect freewheel aft bearing caps for a missing machined lubrication channel and to rework or replace affected caps and assemblies following Bell Alert Service Bulletin procedures approved by Transport Canada.

Owners/operators pay for inspections and rework and must meet staged deadlines (identification within 7 days; further rework within 50 and 300 flight hours). Amendment 1 also imposes an ultimate life on components that operated with defective caps (Requirement; Compliance; Background).
