This instrument cancels a previous aviation safety inspection requirement for Bell 206B III Series helicopters.

What it used to require: Operators had to inspect a specific metal fitting (the "tension/torsion strap sleeve fitting," part number 206-011-150-101) every single time it was taken apart. This repeated until the fitting was permanently replaced with an updated version (part number -105).

What changed: As of 19 November 2009, helicopter owners and maintenance crews no longer need to perform this inspection. The Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) determined the safety requirement was no longer necessary.

Who is affected: Operators and maintainers of Bell Helicopter Textron Canada (BHTC) 206 and Agusta Bell 206 series helicopters.
