AD/BELL 205/9 - Servo Cylinder Upper Control Tube Fittings - CANCELLED

What this is: A formal cancellation of an old aviation safety rule (called an Airworthiness Directive or AD) that applied to Bell 205 series helicopters.

What the original rule required: Back in 1971, helicopter operators had to inspect and fix potential problems with the "servo cylinder upper control tube fittings" — essentially, specific mechanical joints in the helicopter's flight control system. Operators needed to complete this work within 100 hours of flying time after May 1971.

Why it is being cancelled: Since this requirement is decades old, every affected helicopter would have completed the fix long ago. This document officially removes the obsolete rule from the aviation safety register.

Who it affects: Primarily a housekeeping matter for the Civil Aviation Safety Authority. For helicopter operators, it confirms they no longer need to track this specific directive, though the required safety work remains embedded in the aircraft's maintenance history.
