Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This AD mandates daily pre-flight inspections of certain tail-rotor driveshaft bearings on Bell 205A and 205A-1 helicopters (specific part numbers/serial prefixes) because a fatal accident suggested a production-batch defect. It affects owners/operators who must follow Bell Alert Service Bulletin 205-91-43 Rev A, bearing the inspection costs and potential downtime — a safety measure to catch defective bearings before flight.
