Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

This mandatory Airworthiness Directive requires all Australian Bell 205 operators to inspect the swashplate outer ring for cracking—per Bell Helicopter Alert Service Bulletin 205‑90‑37—because a casting fault may cause cracks at the trunnion attachment points. Inspections must be done before the next flight after 25 May 1990. It matters because failure of this component could lead to loss of primary flight control and catastrophic consequences.
