Plain English Summary

3/10 complexity

This AD requires owners/operators of Bell 205A and 205A‑1 helicopters with tail rotor hub P/N 204‑011‑801‑121 to inspect that hub and remove from service any with serial numbers IT0001–IT0010; affected helicopters may not fly after 23 October 1989 until compliant. It responds to concerns those hubs may be incorrectly assembled, lack required preloads, be dynamically unbalanced, or not conform to type design. Inspection/replacement costs and downtime are borne by operators; no waivers are provided.
