Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This Airworthiness Directive requires owners/operators of specified Bell 205A‑1 helicopters (listed serial ranges) to inspect cyclic control cylinder piston rods for cracks every 10 flight hours until the helicopter is permanently modified per Bell Service Bulletin 205‑79‑7. Compliance is not required if the helicopter already has the dual hydraulic modification (Bell 205‑37) or was repaired per Part II of the service bulletin. The measure prevents loss of primary flight control from rod fatigue.
