Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

What this does: It requires helicopter operators to permanently remove from service ("retire") specific swashplate support assemblies (parts that help control the main rotor blades) on Bell 205 helicopters once they reach 1,000 hours of use.

Who it affects: Owners and operators of Bell 205 helicopters fitted with part numbers 204-011-404-009 or -017.

What you must do: Replace these parts before they hit 1,000 hours of flight time, following the technical steps in Bell Service Bulletin No. 205-76-10.

Why it matters: This prevents dangerous mechanical failures in a critical flight control component. This updated version now covers an extra part number (-017) that was missed in the original rule.
