Plain English Summary

3/10 complexity

Mandates inspection and, if needed, modification of pilot and co‑pilot seat locking pins on Beechcraft 99 series (serials U‑1 to U‑239) to ensure pins fully engage, using Beech Service Bulletin 2444 Revision II. Operators/owners must perform the work within 150 hours' time‑in‑service after 19 June 1997; costs of inspection, parts and maintenance fall to them. The AD responds to reported seat‑slide incidents and follows FAA revised service instructions; it substitutes an operational safety requirement for private maintenance scheduling and may temporarily remove aircraft from service until corrected.
