Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This Airworthiness Directive (AD) is a mandatory safety notice for owners and operators of Beechcraft 90 and 65-90 (King Air) aircraft equipped with electrical fuel vent heaters.

What you must do:

Immediately disconnect power to both fuel vent heaters and clearly label them as inoperative. If you use the circuit breaker to do this, you must add a physical clip or tie to prevent anyone accidentally resetting it.
Inspect the wiring located in the wing area for any signs of rubbing or wear (called "chafing") that could damage the insulation.
Repair any issues by either securing the wiring to prevent future rubbing or covering it with protective plastic sleeving before you reconnect the electrical power.

Why this matters: Damaged electrical wires near fuel systems create a serious risk of fire or explosion. This directive ensures the wiring is safe before the heaters are operated again.
