Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This is an Airworthiness Directive — a mandatory safety order issued by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) under aviation law.

What it requires:

Owners and operators of specific Beechcraft King Air aircraft must modify the fuel shut-off valve switches located on the firewall (the protective barrier between the engine and passenger cabin)
The modification must be carried out immediately (the directive uses the term "forthwith")
The technical specifications for the modification are contained in Beechcraft Service Bulletin SB 66-21, Revision 1

Which aircraft are affected:

Beechcraft Model 65-90 and Model 65-A90
Only those with serial numbers prior to LJ-152

Why this matters: Airworthiness directives are legally binding safety requirements. This modification likely addresses a risk of fuel leaks or fire hazards in the engine compartment. Non-compliance can result in the aircraft being deemed unairworthy (illegal to fly).
