Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

What it does: This safety directive requires operators of Beechcraft King Air 90 series aircraft to install a specific warning sign in the cockpit.

Who it affects: Anyone operating Beechcraft 90 or 65-90 (King Air) aircraft — all models are covered.

The requirement: You must place a placard (a permanent sign) in a prominent spot where pilots can easily see it. The sign must read exactly: "FOR SINGLE AND NIL GENERATOR OPERATION - SWITCH OFF AIRCONDITIONING, WINDSHIELD ANTI-ICE AND ALL UNESSENTIAL LOADS".

Why it matters: When an aircraft loses one or both generators (electrical power sources), there's a risk of overloading the remaining electrical system. This placard reminds pilots to immediately shut down non-essential systems — like air conditioning and anti-ice — to conserve power and keep the aircraft flying safely.

When: The directive must be followed immediately ("forthwith").
