Mandatory Safety Fix for Aircraft Elevator Controls

This is a mandatory maintenance order (called an Airworthiness Directive) for specific light aircraft to prevent dangerous looseness in the flight controls.

Who it affects: Owners and operators of Beechcraft 77 "Skipper" aircraft with serial numbers WA-1 through WA-59.
What must be done: Inspect and repair the elevator control arm bushings (the pivot points for the tail's up-down control surface) following the manufacturer's Service Instruction No. 1135.
When: Within 100 hours of flight time accumulated after 31 July 1980.
Why it matters: The directive addresses a risk of "freeplay" (unwanted movement or slack) developing in the elevator control system, which could potentially lead to reduced control over the aircraft's pitch.
