Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

What this does: This is a mandatory safety directive for owners and operators of specific Beechcraft 77 (Skipper) aeroplanes. If your aircraft has serial numbers between WA-1 and WA-312, you must inspect and repair the engine mount assembly and engine control linkage.

Why it matters: Cracks have been discovered in the engine mount assembly (the structure that holds the engine to the airframe). This is a serious safety risk because engine mount failure could cause the engine to detach from the aircraft.

What you must do: Follow the procedures in Beechcraft Service Instruction No. 1233 (a technical manual from the manufacturer). You must complete this work within 100 hours of flight time after 28 February 1983, unless you've already done it.

Who it affects: Anyone operating the specific Beechcraft 77 models listed above, registered in Australia under the Civil Aviation Regulations.
