Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

What this is: A mandatory safety instruction (called an Airworthiness Directive) for owners and operators of specific Beechcraft aeroplanes.

Who it affects: Anyone who owns or operates a Beechcraft Model 77 "Skipper" aircraft with serial numbers WA-1 through WA-312.

What it requires: You must perform specific maintenance work on the nose landing gear (the front wheel) attachment bolts following the manufacturer's instructions (Beechcraft Service Instruction No. 1218). This involves inspecting and likely replacing certain bolts to ensure the landing gear doesn't fail.

When you must comply: Within 100 hours of flight time after 30 September 1982.

Why it matters: The manufacturer identified a safety issue with the strength of the bolts holding the nose wheel assembly. Without this fix, the landing gear could fail during takeoff or landing, potentially causing an accident.
