Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

What this does: This directive mandates a safety inspection of the lower rudder hinge assembly on specific Beechcraft aircraft. It directs operators to follow the technical procedures in Beechcraft Service Instruction No. 0170-131.

Who it affects: Owners and operators of all models of Beechcraft 65 and 70 series aeroplanes (Queen Air aircraft).

What you must do:

Inspect: Check the lower rudder hinge assembly for defects or wear.
When: Complete the inspection within 100 hours of "time in service" (meaning 100 hours of flight time with the engine running) after 6 June 1969.
How: Follow the specific steps in Beechcraft Service Instruction No. 0170-131.

Why it matters: The rudder hinge is a critical part of the aircraft's steering system. This inspection prevents mechanical failure that could lead to loss of control during flight.
