Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

This airworthiness directive mandates urgent safety maintenance on specific Beechcraft 60 (Duke) aircraft.

What it requires Owners or operators must inspect and replace the engine mount bolt nuts on affected aeroplanes, following the procedures detailed in Beechcraft Service Instruction No. 0396-241.

Who it applies to All Beechcraft 60 (Duke) series models with serial numbers P-5 and subsequent (newer aircraft).

Compliance deadline The maintenance must be completed within 25 hours of flight time after 21 August 1971.

Why it matters Engine mounts physically attach the engine to the aircraft structure. Loose or defective bolt nuts could lead to engine separation during flight, with potentially catastrophic consequences. This directive addresses a known hardware defect to prevent mechanical failure.
