Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

What this is: A mandatory safety instruction (called an Airworthiness Directive) for owners and operators of specific Beechcraft Duke aircraft models.

What it requires: If you own or operate a Beechcraft 60, A60, or B60 with serial numbers P-3 through P-487, you must inspect and potentially replace the elevator control push rods (the metal rods that connect the pilot's control yoke to the elevator, which makes the plane go up and down).

Why it matters: Corrosion was discovered in similar aircraft models. Since corrosion can weaken these critical control components and potentially cause loss of control, this directive mandates action to prevent accidents.

When you must comply: Within 100 hours of flight time after 31 May 1980.

How to comply: Follow the procedures in Beechcraft Service Instruction No. 1019 (an official manufacturer bulletin that details the specific inspection and repair steps).
