Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

What this does: This is a safety directive (called an Airworthiness Directive) that mandates urgent maintenance on specific aircraft to prevent engine failure.

Who it affects: Owners and operators of Beechcraft Duke Model B60 aeroplanes with serial numbers P-421 to P-478.

What you must do: You must inspect or replace the engine hose assembly by following the manufacturer's Service Instruction No. 0998 exactly. This prevents the engine hose from rupturing or leaking, which could cause engine fire, failure, or loss of power in flight.

When: The work must be completed within 100 hours of flying time after 31 October 1978.

Why it matters: Engine hose failure at altitude can be catastrophic. This directive ensures a critical safety fix is applied to vulnerable aircraft before they accumulate significant flight hours.
