Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

This Airworthiness Directive requires owners and operators of Beechcraft 60 (Duke) series aircraft to install safety harnesses in the front seats.

What it requires:

Fit a safety harness to each front seat restraint system
The installation must follow a design scheme approved by the Secretary (the government official responsible for aviation safety at the time the directive was issued)

Who it affects:

Owners and operators of all models of Beechcraft 60 (Duke) aircraft

When it had to be done:

Before 1 September 1972

Why it matters: This safety directive (originally issued in 1971) mandates better occupant restraint systems to reduce injuries during accidents, hard landings, or turbulence. Airworthiness Directives remain legally binding until explicitly cancelled or superseded, even decades after issue.
