Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This mandatory Airworthiness Directive requires owners/operators of Beechcraft 60 (Duke) aircraft with electrical fuel vent heaters to immediately disable the heaters and tag them inoperative, inspect wing wiring for chafing, and protect or secure any wiring found so it cannot rub on structure. Power may only be restored after inspection and repairs. The measures address a fire/explosion risk from heater wiring contacting fuel-vapor areas and must be done within 10 hours' flight time after 30 September 1971.
