Plain English Summary

3/10 complexity

Requires owners/operators of specified Beechcraft 56TC (Turbo Baron) aeroplanes to carry out the mandatory actions in Beechcraft Service Bulletin 2399 at their next scheduled inspection after 29 February 1992 to ensure elevator trim tab actuators are not interchanged. The directive, issued by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority, responds to two fatal accidents where left‑ and right‑hand actuators were reversed; its mechanical aim is to prevent reversed actuator installation that could lead to loss of control. Operators pay inspection/rectification costs and maintenance staff must change handling and identification practice.
