Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

What this is: A mandatory safety order (called an Airworthiness Directive) that requires owners of specific Beechcraft aircraft to inspect or fix their elevator control push rods.

Who it affects: Owners and operators of Beechcraft 56TC and A56TC "Turbo Baron" aircraft with serial numbers TG-2 through TG-94.

What you must do: Follow the instructions in Beechcraft Service Instruction No. 1019 regarding the elevator control push rods. This work must be completed within 100 hours of flying time after 31 May 1980.

Why it matters: Corrosion was discovered in elevator push rods on similar Beechcraft models. Since these rods control whether the aircraft pitches up or down, corrosion could cause the control to fail, potentially leading to a crash. This directive ensures the unsafe condition is identified and repaired before it causes an accident.
