Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

What this is: A mandatory safety directive (called an Airworthiness Directive) issued by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority for specific Beechcraft Baron aircraft.

Who it affects: Owners and operators of Beechcraft Model 95-B55 (serial numbers TC-955 to TC-1015) and Model 95-C55 (serial numbers TE-1 to TE-219).

What it requires:

Inspect the aircraft's dorsal fin (the vertical fin on the top of the tail) at least every 100 hours of flight time.
Modify the dorsal fin according to Beechcraft Service Bulletin 66-16 within 500 flight hours after 15 March 1967.

Why it matters: This directive addresses potential safety issues with the dorsal fin structure. The recurring inspections act as a temporary safety measure until the permanent modification is completed.
