Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

What this is: A mandatory safety notice (Airworthiness Directive) issued by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority requiring specific maintenance action on certain aircraft.

What it requires: Owners or operators must inspect or service the soundproofing blanket located on the hatshelf (the shelf behind the rear passenger seats) following the manufacturer's instructions in Beechcraft Service Instruction No. 0694-311, Revision 1.

Who it affects: Owners of specific Beechcraft Baron aircraft models (95-55, 95-A55, 95-B55, and 95-B55A) with serial numbers ranging from TC-1 to TC-349, TC-351 to TC-1392, TC-1397 to TC-1401, and TC-1403 to TC-1425.

When to do it: Every 100 hours of flight time (called "time in service").

Why it matters: These directives are legally enforceable safety standards. An aircraft cannot legally fly if it is not compliant with applicable Airworthiness Directives.
