Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

This is a safety order for owners and operators of Beechcraft 50 (Twin Bonanza) aircraft.

What you must do: Follow the manufacturer's technical instruction (Beechcraft Service Instruction No. 0396-241, Revision 1) regarding the nuts used on engine mount bolts.

Who it affects: Anyone operating any model of the Beechcraft 50 series.

Deadline: Complete the work within 100 hours of flying time after 31 May 1973.

Why it matters: Engine mounts attach the engine to the aircraft wing. If the nuts securing these bolts fail, the engine could detach in flight. This directive mandates a specific fix to prevent mechanical failure and ensure the aircraft remains safe to fly.
