Plain English Summary

3/10 complexity

This airworthiness directive requires owners/operators of Beechcraft 36 aeroplanes (S/N E-1–E-184) to determine whether elevator control fittings are aluminium or magnesium per Beechcraft Mandatory Service Bulletin 2242 Rev 1. If fittings are magnesium, the fittings must be inspected and any cracked fittings replaced with aluminium before further flight; installing aluminium fittings ends the directive. Compliance must occur within 100 hours time-in-service after 30 November 1989 or at the next maintenance-release inspection, and, if magnesium fittings remain, inspections repeat every 100 hours until replacement (Requirement; Compliance; Background).
