Requirement: To reduce the possibility of a fuel leak which could result in an engine compartment fire, carry out the requirements detailed in Beechcraft Mandatory Service Bulletin (MSB) Number 2420 Revision 1, "Accomplishment Instructions", Parts II and III.

Note: FAA Airworthiness Directive 92-17-01 refers.

Compliance: Effective 15 August 1996:

2. Beechcraft MSB No. 2420 Rev.1, "Accomplishment Instructions" Part III; at intervals not to exceed 130 hours time in service.

Background: This directive was originally issued in March 1993 to require the inspection and modification of the engine fuel metering unit. The requirement was published to reduce the possibility of a fuel leak which could result in an engine compartment fire. This amendment introduces a requirement to fit a fuel metering unit drain hose with a higher temperature tolerance material and a requirement to carry out a repetitive inspection of that drain hose.

The original issue of this Airworthiness Directive became effective on 4 March 1993.
