Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

What it is: This is a mandatory safety directive (called an Airworthiness Directive) issued by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) for specific Beechcraft Bonanza aircraft.

Who it affects: Owners and operators of Beechcraft 35, A35, B35, C35, D35, E35, and F35 model aeroplanes with serial numbers prior to D4215.

What it requires: Aircraft operators must immediately take action to inspect or fix the tachometer shaft (the mechanical component that sends engine speed readings to the cockpit gauge). The specific technical steps are contained in separate Beechcraft Service Bulletins referenced by the directive, rather than being detailed in the legislation itself.

Why it matters: The 'Forthwith' (immediate) compliance requirement indicates CASA considers this a critical safety issue. A faulty tachometer shaft could fail in flight, causing the pilot to lose accurate engine speed readings and potentially leading to engine damage or power loss.
