Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This is a safety directive (called an Airworthiness Directive) requiring specific maintenance on certain Beechcraft aeroplanes.

Who it affects: Owners and operators of specific Beechcraft Debonair and Bonanza models (35-33, 35-A33, 35-B33, 35-C33, E33, F33, G33, C33A, E33A, F33A, E33C, and F33C) with particular serial numbers.

What you must do: Inspect and take action on the elevator control push rods (the metal rods that carry the pilot's control inputs to the tail elevator) following the instructions in Beechcraft Service Instruction No. 1019.

When: Within 100 hours of flight time after 31 May 1980.

Why it matters: Corrosion was found in elevator push rods on similar aircraft. These rods are critical for controlling the plane's pitch (up and down movement). If they fail due to corrosion, the pilot could lose control of the aircraft.
