AD/BEECH 33/22 - Internally Lighted Altimeters - CANCELLED

What this does

This document officially cancels an old aircraft safety rule (Airworthiness Directive) from 1975 that applied to specific Beechcraft aeroplanes.

The old rule required:

• Owners of Beechcraft 33 and 35-33 series planes (Debonair/Bonanza models) to inspect and replace certain internally lighted altimeters
• Only affected altimeters installed between September 1972 and August 1973

Why it's being cancelled The safety risk no longer exists. The directive was issued over 30 years ago to fix a specific manufacturing defect, and by now all affected altimeters should have been replaced. The unsafe condition has been eliminated through compliance with the original rule.

What happens now As of 20 December 2007, aircraft owners no longer need to comply with this specific directive. The cancellation is automatic—no action is required by aircraft operators.
