Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This safety order requires owners/operators of specified Beechcraft Model 19, 23, and 24 series aircraft (particular serial-numbered batches) to install manufacturer Service Instruction No. 1243 safety washers on engine control rod ends as a backup fastener. Work must be done within 100 flight hours after 30 September 1983. The washers prevent control-rod separation in flight, reducing the risk of loss of engine control.
