This document formally removes an outdated aviation safety requirement for Beechcraft 200 (Super King Air) aeroplanes.

What the old rule required: Since 1981, owners of these aircraft had to modify the pilot and co-pilot seats by cutting a notch in the seatback pan (the hard backing of the seat). This prevented the shoulder harness (the upper part of the seatbelt) from going slack due to friction against the seat.

Why it is being cancelled: The modification was mandated nearly three decades ago. By 2008, all affected aircraft had already been modified, so the rule was no longer necessary. This document officially cancels the requirement effective 10 April 2008.

Background:	This AD, issued in 1981, required adding a cut-out in the pilot's and co-pilot's seatback pan to reduce the possibility of slack in the shoulder harness caused by friction between the seatback pan and the shoulder harness. As all aircraft would have complied with this AD by now, the AD is no longer required.
