Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This airworthiness directive (a mandatory safety notice issued by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority) requires owners and operators of specific Beechcraft Super King Air aircraft to inspect and correct the installation of the left-hand rudder cable.

The Safety Issue The manufacturer identified that during original assembly, the left rudder cable may have been incorrectly routed through the under-floor area. This fault could potentially affect the aircraft's steering controls and compromise flight safety.

Required Action Operators must perform the corrective actions specified in Beechcraft Service Instruction No. 1172 to ensure the cable is properly routed.

Who Must Comply This applies only to specific aircraft by model and serial number:

Model 200: Serial numbers BB-2 to BB-647
Model 200C: Serial numbers BL-1 to BL-6
Model 200T: Serial numbers BT-1 to BT-13

Deadline The inspection and correction must be completed within 100 hours of flight time after 31 July 1981.
