Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

What this is: A safety order (Airworthiness Directive) requiring specific checks and modifications to certain Beechcraft Super King Air aircraft.

Who it affects: Owners and operators of Beechcraft 200 series aeroplanes equipped with "high flotation" landing gear and serial numbers up to BB-188.

What you must do:

Inspect: Check the wheel well fender installation in the engine housing (nacelle) within the next 100 flight hours, then repeat this inspection every 100 flight hours until the modification is done.
Modify: Permanently fix the fender installation according to Beechcraft's technical guidelines (Service Instruction No 0897). This must be completed before the aircraft reaches 500 flight hours (counted from when this rule took effect).

Why it matters: This prevents potential failures of the wheel well fender that could compromise aircraft safety and airworthiness.
