AD/BEECH 1900/49 Amdt 1 - Wing Rear Spar Lower Cap Inspection - 2 - CANCELLED

What this is: This document cancels a previous Australian aviation safety rule that required specific safety inspections on Beechcraft 1900 aircraft.

What it does: It officially scraps Airworthiness Directive AD/BEECH 1900/49 Amdt 1, which previously mandated inspections of the wing rear spar lower cap on these aeroplanes.

Why it matters: Australian aircraft operators no longer need to follow this specific Australian inspection rule. Instead, they must comply with a US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) directive (FAA AD 2009-23-03) issued on 27 October 2009. Under Australian aviation law (CASR Part 39.001A), FAA airworthiness directives issued after 1 October 2009 automatically have effect in Australia, making the old Australian directive redundant.

Effective date: The cancellation takes effect on 14 December 2009.
