What this does: This document officially cancels an old aircraft safety rule.

Who it affects: Owners and operators of Beechcraft 18 series aeroplanes (twin-engine aircraft).

The details: In 1971, the safety regulator issued a rule (called Airworthiness Directive 18/16) requiring these planes to have approved safety harnesses installed in the front seats. This 2007 document withdraws that old rule entirely because the safety risk it addressed no longer exists—likely because all affected aircraft have long since been fitted with harnesses or retired from service.

When it takes effect: The cancellation happens on 20 December 2007.

Why it matters: It removes a regulatory burden. Owners no longer need to comply with a 36-year-old directive that has become redundant.
