AD/BAe 146/139 - Aileron Interconnect Cable Pulley Guards - CANCELLED

This document officially cancels a previous aviation safety rule (Airworthiness Directive AD/BAe 146/139) that required specific safety actions regarding aileron interconnect cable pulley guards on British Aerospace BAe 146 series aircraft.

What this means for aircraft owners and operators:

• As of 26 January 2010, you no longer need to follow the requirements of the old Australian directive AD/BAe 146/139.
• The safety requirements haven't disappeared—they've simply moved to a European directive.

Why it was cancelled: The Australian requirements have been replaced by a European Aviation Safety Agency directive (EASA AD 2009-0205R1) issued on 12 January 2010. Under Australian aviation law (CASR Part 39), when an aircraft's country of original certification (the "State of Design") issues an airworthiness directive, it automatically becomes mandatory in Australia. This made the separate Australian directive redundant, so it was cancelled to avoid duplication.
