Plain English Summary

3/10 complexity

This directive requires all Boeing 767 aircraft to have their environmental control system modified and functionally tested to ensure cargo-compartment fire protection, following Boeing Service Bulletin 767-21-0041 (latest revision). Owners/operators and their maintenance organisations must complete the work by 31 December 1985.

It matters because it enforces a safety upgrade across the fleet and places the scheduling, downtime, parts and funding burden on operators, who must obtain and follow the OEM service bulletin to comply.
