Plain English Summary

3/10 complexity

Required action: Measures the Boeing 767 main landing gear outer cylinder upper and lower joint gaps and performs an ultrasonic inspection for cracks on Model 767-200, -300 and -300F aircraft (line numbers 1–883). Operators and maintenance organisations must carry out these actions in accordance with FAA AD 2004-09-11 and referenced Boeing service bulletins by the revised effective date 8 July 2004. The inspections are intended to detect and repair cracks that could otherwise cause landing gear collapse and reduced aircraft controllability.
