Plain English Summary

4/10 complexity

This AD requires Boeing 767-200 aeroplanes modified by FAA STC ST09022AC‑D to have their passenger entertainment system fitted with a load‑shed relay and associated wiring, and to update the Airplane Operations Manual to describe the flight‑deck utility bus power switch and how to remove PES power.

Aircraft operators and maintenance organisations must perform and pay for the retrofit per Raytheon service documents within 18 months; installations under that STC are prohibited unless the retrofit and manual revision are completed. CASA says the measure ensures crew can remove PES power to help control smoke or fumes.
