Plain English Summary

4/10 complexity

This Airworthiness Directive requires operators of Boeing 767s with P&W JT9D-7R4 or GE CF6-80A engines to inspect engine thrust-control cables, repair faults before further flight, and — where fitted with specified non-metallic pulleys — replace them with aluminium pulleys and re‑rig the controls. CASA issues the requirement and operators bear the inspection, repair, replacement and recurrent inspection costs. The stated aim (by referencing FAA and Boeing materials) is to correct an identified unsafe condition.
