Plain English Summary

3/10 complexity

This instrument mandates that operators of Boeing 767 aircraft (line positions 001–455) conduct the FAA‑specified inspections and any corrective actions for the main landing gear forward trunnion joint, as set out in FAA AD 99‑10‑08 and Boeing Service Bulletin 767‑32A0127. It responds to reported corrosion that could cause trunnion fracture and gear collapse; operators must follow the referenced procedures exactly and bear the inspection, repair and downtime costs.

Applicability: Model 767 series aircraft, with line positions 001 through 455.

Requirement: Action in accordance with the technical requirements of FAA AD 99-10-08 Amdt 39- 11161.
