Note 2: FAA AD 98-07-13 Amdt 39-10433.

Compliance: Within 12 months from the effective date of this directive.

This airworthiness directive becomes effective on 18 June 1998.

Background: The FAA has advised that one operator submitted a report indicating that the opening of the main passenger door caused the door liner and a ceiling panel to chafe and ultimately break wires installed in the area above the main passenger door. This directive requires a one time inspection, repair if necessary , and the relocation of wire bundles above the door. These actions are intended to prevent the wires from becoming worn or broken, which could lead to the failure of several systems such as the fuel shut-off valves.
